The Trivium by Sister Miriam Joseph

Joseph writes an inquiry into the nature of the mind and knowledge. Within her work she introduces art and where the liberal arts fall upon, amongst these the first three (which are the emphasis of her book) Logic, Grammar and Rhetoric, known as The Trivium. The trivium she says, is more as a tool for grasping understanding and gaining truth within our lifetime. Whether or not we're aware of them it's a system that is inherent in human beings.

What I found most interesting in this book was how she arranges the trivium with the purpose of becoming men with a free mind. It puts into perspective the purpose of our life and made me question and realize how unaware I've been my whole life. I've always said that I don't know "WHAT" I want to become but I only want to be a "Great Man" this book made me realize that this is not onl possible but necessary and changed my perspective in that I thoguht this recognition would come from others, but rather it comes from within us as we transform our minds.
